Interesting read, I read about 1/4 of it but this is nothing new: YT cracker has been making nerdcore to this very thing [0] for years, this is just a way to use cheap labour in the developing World to do it in a more distributed manner. In some way this way more cyberpunk than using bots and scripts to convince e-john's to pay up for this content as it underscores that nothing is sacred, not even intimacy, and a race to the bottom in OP-EX is just another way to stay ahead of the competition is sobering:
But all of them take advantage of the same raw materials: the endless reproducibility of digital images; the widespread global availability of cheap English-speaking labor; and the world’s unquenchable desire for companionship.
What's even crazier is if you are at all familiar with warez you'll know where to find dumps of these OF pages for free and community's who curate them of their own volition, it's actually kind of crazy to think of who pays for this stuff, but the reality is some of these ;new sex workers' are making a good living so hats off to them for finding their niche.
I have seen this World up close during the formative years of my startup in fintech (they needed to buy or sale BTC in order to post their escort ads after Visa/MC shut them down), and to be honest, it's nothing I'd want for any female in my family or circle of friends but I'm not judging them for it if it's what they want and are successful at it.
I just struggle with the reality of what underpins a lot of sex work as it's often homelessness, desperation, substance abuse/addiction, poverty and a general lack of social services that cannot provide for single mothers more often than some wild exhibitionist who gets off on others watching her/them from behind a screen as it's often portrayed.
What is perhaps even sadder is the perpetual loneliness that has seemingly become just another part of life in the 21st century that worries me most. I need to get back to writing the last Act of my Black Mirror-esque screenplay on just this topic that I started in 2014 or so...
Sidenote: Of course this found it's home in Florida.
