For #3, you can also use CTRL-ALT-T to start multiple terminals, and then CTRL-ALT-NUMPAD # to tile them around in your workspace. It is not the best workflow, however.
- fader 15y agoAlso, to start a new instance of a window you can middle-click on its icon in the launcher. This works with more than just the terminal (browsers, word processors, etc.).
