Or, we could get all Kremlinological about it, and assume that the pixelation is meant to obscure the fact that something specific is being hidden (if the black device has some prominent design detail, eg. glowing stripes on the temples, which were either covered in tape or blacked out in the video, the pixelation would hide that fact nicely).
