I try to break out of filter bubbles as much as possible. One such strategy I've employed is having an array of lists for different topics in Twitter's app. I avoid their 'You may like' algos as much as possible, and their timeline in general. The first thing I launch is their 'lists' feature, which is a highly underappreciated feature. One list for Football, another for compsci, another for inspirational quotes / stoicism, etc
As a bonus I don't get promoted tweets in Lists, but that could change at any time when Twitter gets unscrupulous and they need to force as much AD impressions on their users as possible.
