Russia Is Using Chips from Dishwashers to Fix Its Tanks
- nikau 4y agoCurious to know how they determined this, it's not like any usable components in a washing machine have identifying markings to say where it came from. At most they can see the date code and if the solder looks to have been hand done, not sure how they came to this conclusion.
- oxff 4y agoI'm not even sure it is the own they think it is. "Russia can manifest tanks out of consumer appliances, Putler BTFO!" rings weird.
- timonoko 4y ago"Chip" is not the keyword here. Washing machines have heavyduty control boards with relays and other shit, which work for years in humid and abusive environment.
- nikau 4y agoPretty much all washing machines made in the last 20 years use triacs not relays, and the control boards are normally potted in either a silicon or epoxy type substance for water resistance. Pretty much the worst possible option to harvest components from.
