If you can never change who you are I'd never have gotten married or had kids. I'd still be at the same dead-end job because of my fear of change. I don't have great advice for you because I don't work at one of the big tech companies. I really hope HN doesn't represent the majority of our industry and people who want to better themselves because if it does maybe I should look at leaving software development.
- djellybeans 4y agoI suppose he's believing that there's a sunk cost fallacy given it's been 10 years. But I am trying to redeem myself. My story is not quite the same as the start of those that made a great turnaround by changing careers, which I've read many of. I'm curious to hear how a story of turning a new leaf in the same career would pan out.
