It is stupid, but I see this attitude in several people I personally know who are in their 20s. I'm talking about people who could afford to save or invest some money, but don't. I keep telling them that whatever doom and gloom scenario they expect of the future will for sure be even gloomier for poor people than for those who have at least some money set aside.
