dont remove bots just put them in a bot container, and deliver a warning such as polymtl irc server would. "you have one chance to clonebot this server. clonebot this server once and you are gone."

  Shadow banning is the only way to effectively nerf bots and systematic content curating. Basically you identify as a subject and start randomly putting their content into a mirror universe and stochastically degrading their spread. Even if they make shadow users to observe it'd be difficult to identify whose content is nurfed and by the time it's determined they'd need to reset up everything. As long as account generation has a small inconvenience fee, say multi step acknowledgement and content iniation, the bot webs would be too degraded. This assumes they already know the bot nets others have already determined.

This is another WaPo hit piece. Bots don't generate the same amount of revenue as regular users. In addition, if Twitter knowingly underestimated the amount of bots by tweaking their algo to undercount them, that certainly would be a reason to end the deal. Edit: Also, does anyone else think that the bots only represent 5% of the accounts? I would be surprised if the number wasn't closer to 30%. If they knowingly lied, that's also fraud to the shareholders/stock market.

  If you read the filing by Twitter that isn't the only thing they said. If he is relying solely on "bot" percentages to try to back of the deal, it will likely not end well on his end. They way they phrased it in their filing the percentage could be much higher and it would not be a lie. Note the definition of a bot account isn't black and white either. Users that use software to post and follow in mass may not even be considered a bot account.

  Thing is, do you consider a mechanical turk a bot? It's clear countries like china and Russia put real people behind multiple accounts.
