  It takes a similar amount of time to prove that he is correct. If you copy the link into a new window instead of coming from HN, you get a different result.

I turn off referers in my browser. There is no reason to have it on, especially cross-origin. It's only good for tracking and not much else.

    Yeah. You can re-enable them when needed, such as with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/togglereferrer/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/togglereferre...
