> That's definitely why 99% of people are into cryptocurrency
The vast majority of people in the space, and their expectations will end up deciding the future of the space. It doesn’t matter how cool the tech is, the mob is there to make money, and anything that promises so (including BitTorrent the company issuing crypto tokens) will get money, hype.
By being in the space, a hacker lends it legitimacy, and this spreads to the remaining 99% projects as well no matter what they’re for.
- ChadNauseam 4y agoYou may be right. But I just want to hack on stuff I'm interested in. It's not like the future of the space will be any better if all the technical people leave and only the scammers are left.
- captn3m0 4y agoGood luck to the devs who worked at Luna protocol. Or the dozens of other *Finance Yield Farms that got hacked. Or to the ones who worked at Yuga Labs and cost hundreds of millions of dollars in gas fees to their investors. Good intentions don’t seem to be helping this space imo, they keep getting dragged down by the realities of “Code will have Bugs”, and “I can’t trust anyone to manage their private keys”, or “scaling issues”.
