Ask HN: How to Make Money on Internet?
This question is very broad but I would like to tailor it down by asking what are some ways where you can leverage the power of internet to make money with your skills.
I have heard a lot of success stories but would love to hear from you guys

- u2077 4y ago1. If you’re creating just for money and aren’t passionate about the project, you will fail. Here’s some advice in no particular order: There’s no such thing as passive income, you will need to put in a ton of initial effort. Make sure your product has minimal upkeep. Build once, sell many. Listen to your users. Know when to listen and ignore feedback. Solve a problem that exists. On the internet a small piece of the pie is big enough. Be small, Be great. Respect the user. Don’t track them or do other shady things.

I doubt most founders of nonetheless succesful companies are "passionate" about sewage disposal or other things, and I've known several owners of sucessful companies who are hardly passionate about the product, but are very passionate about selling it...
- u2077 4y agoDon’t exactly have to be passionate about the product, but I would say they are passionate about the work they do. Getting something off the ground (especially solo) does require some motivation.
- coldtea 4y agoThe best way to make money on the internet is to advise people about how to make money on the internet, with success stories to motivate them and seminars to train them in making money!
- stoicjumbotron 4y agoCan't believe how accurate this is! Add some accompanying material like a paid course or a short book, where the person goes into more detail and you're good to go.
- farseer 4y agoWhat you really wanted to say was Scamming people is one way to make money on the internet. OP probably isn't asking for morally reprehensible advice.

- eranation 4y agoMake something people need. Get them to know about it. Charge for it. There is no magic formula.
- ffhhj 4y agoFind a niche community (ie. some social network group), built an app for it, promote in that community, add an affiliate network to monetize it.
