Mark Zuckerberg's Project Cambria demo shows off its full-color passthrough
- webmaven 4y agoIt's a little strange that they went to the trouble to pixelate the real world device when there is a 3D render in the video as well. Hard to imagine what would be worth obscuring that way. Branding, perhaps?
- Nextgrid 4y agoMaybe any potential sensors on it, something that's not replicated on the 3D render?
- webmaven 4y agoMaybe? But even that wouldn't have required pixelating the whole device, unless someone was just being lazy. Or, we could get all Kremlinological about it, and assume that the pixelation is meant to obscure the fact that something specific is being hidden (if the black device has some prominent design detail, eg. glowing stripes on the temples, which were either covered in tape or blacked out in the video, the pixelation would hide that fact nicely).
- hsnewman 4y agoIt seems unlikely that I'll ever buy a headset, and walking around with it on, throwing imaginary balls is not only silly but a giant waste of resources. Seems to me to be a idea looking for a use case.
