Can this be generalized to say, as a rule of thumb, that an automatic translation of code from C to go produces code that is twice as slow?, are there other projects in which the automatic translation performance is divided by 2?
- alophawen 4y agoNo. The real insight is "it depends".
- josefx 4y ago> that an automatic translation of code from C to go produces code that is twice as slow? try several thousand times, twice as slow was the best case measured. The group by performance is catastrophic.
- tedunangst 4y agoThat's approximately the same performance hit the go compiler itself experienced switching from c to go.
