The term 'dark pattern' wrt to UX is meant to signal that the practice is morally dubious. In an app with a 'dark pattern', the designer uses affordances in the UI to nudge the user into taking action against their best interest (in favor of the company/product). In this case this was just shitty handling of the zoom or something app-browser related - it doesn't seem to be trying to trick you into anything.
