Congressional stock trading: Ban your kids, ban your wife, ban your husband too
- mcdonje 4y agoAccounting firms have rules like this that they take very seriously. They will force you and your family to get rid of certain stocks if the firm has a relationship with the company. It's seen as normal and reasonable. Congress and their families should absolutely be barred from owning individual stocks and certain other assets. I would even extend that to parents, but estate taxes strong enough to deter misbehavior in this area might be a better solution.
