I’ve been managing (volunteer) a Wordpress site for 12 years now for a non-profit organization that hosts a university competition. They post about 1 or 2 times a month, and I created a registration form and email confirmation. All free. The only fees they pay are server hosting and domain name. I think we have paid on average around $40 a year. So for the past decade, they spent $500 on website fees and no ads. So I guess you can say if your goal is just to send information and don’t have a need for profit, I would say Wordpress is a good fit.
