Company wants to use carbon dioxide to store renewable power on the grid
- PaulHoule 4y agoPart of the reason why nuclear plants cost so much is that high cost of the steam turbine and the associated heat exchangers. Potentially the mass/volume of a gas turbine based on supercritical CO2 could be 10% or less of a steam turbine but the turbo machinery is not developed for that. I”m wondering if there is some overlap.
