Mark Rober and team exposes call center scams in India
- huhtenberg 4y agoHe staged his videos before and that left a very bad aftertaste. I'd take everything shown with a very large grain of salt.
- pgwhalen 4y agoThis isn’t strictly correct: there were fake reactions in a video he released, but he was not aware they were fake until later, and they were removed.
- willow_whisper 4y agoDo you have examples beyond the Glitter Bomb video with the fake reactions? I had no idea and this, while possibly innocent, still makes me less likely to view his content. Glitter Bomb article for context: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/21/glitter-bomb-video-was-partially-faked-former-nasa-engineer-confirms.html https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/21/glitter-bomb-video-was-parti...
- sreekars 4y agoScams are indeed real. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/7-fake-call-centres-busted-3-with-help-from-us-netizen/articleshow/91453673.cms https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/7-fake-call...
- cuteboy19 4y agoUm... this is international terrorism. Even if this person is not lying and the information he received is correct, what he is doing is clearly an illegal use of force to intimidate people. Whether they deserve it or not is not for him to decide. Why not just report your findings to the authorities? I genuinely hope for his sake that this is staged.
- sreekars 4y agoI am not sure whether those pranks are really necessary but those scams are real. Looks like police are already taking action against them. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/7-fake-call-centres-busted-3-with-help-from-us-netizen/articleshow/91453673.cms https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/7-fake-call...
