To be a positive voice in the comments, this looks intriguing. I agree with one of the comments, it looks like email + mailing list, but with lower friction to make it useful for quick messages, making it more chat-like. I think it might be worth giving it a whirl for a small team. I also like the idea of it being more archival like. I've tried joining various discord servers for different areas of interest, e.g. computer vision and robotics, but it's just a flood of ephemeral noise. Do you know if they have public groups like discord?
