I'm personally invested in the (neo)vim universe. Plenty of people bemoan the fact that there is a learning curve, or that one might spend time customizing their setup. I enjoy using well thought out tools. Since I was young I could appreciate the weight of hammer in my hands or the purchase a quality screwdriver gives. To which I often hear: "I dont get excited about tool X, Y, Z, its just a tool". It's all wonderfully subjective.
