  AV1 v1 happened 4 years ago, not 18 days ago.     Complicating matters slightly more, the AOM recently adopted the SVT codebase as their official implementation for future work. Though obviously other encoders (and decoders) are available for the AV1 format. I think for individual encode enthusiasts the old libaom codebase is still the goto, but if you are Facebook or Netflix you probably want to be looking at SVT-AV1.
