The other day I was scrolling through google earth and visited the hottest place on earth “Furnace Creek” in Death Valley. And to my surprise there is a golf course right next to it.
- oinksoft 4y agoAs far as I know, Furnace Creek is an oasis, and its golf course is irrigated by non-potable groundwater from local springs. - rurp 4y agoPulling water out of a desert ecosystem like that can have a profoundly negative impact on the native wildlife, whether or not the water is human drinkable.
