About those kill-switched Ukrainian tractors
- woliveirajr 4y ago> The next time someone tells you “If you’re not paying for the product, you’re the product,” remember this. These farmers weren’t getting free, ad-supported tractors. Deere charges six figures for a tractor. But the farmers were still the product. Was this something that you could opt-pout, somehow, or the only way to win is not buying such tractor ?
- foxyv 4y agoI was thinking about writing a post apocalyptic novel a couple years back where a Russian hacking group manages to breach the John Deer network and take down every machine in the USA with an OTA update. The main character was trying to escape from San Francisco on a bicycle because all the gas dried up after a chain reaction of "Just in Time" supply shortages and California had banned private vehicles. I'm terribly sorry to all, I apparently wrote it on a weird scroll because it keeps coming true bit by bit. https://hercules-xena.fandom.com/wiki/Xena_Scrolls_(Artifact) https://hercules-xena.fandom.com/wiki/Xena_Scrolls_(Artifact...
