Bone and tooth objects from the Late Bronze Age ‘shaman's grave’ in Poland
- penneyd 4y agoWould love to hear the music that was produced using this.
- pierrec 4y agoThey mention the closest living instrument might be the Lithuanian skudučiai, which led me to this performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs738I0QbAQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs738I0QbAQ The scale was probably different from that example. I don't know if it's possible to narrow down what the exact pitches were - did the pipes contain a stopper made from a less durable material (as is often the case with pan pipes)? The article mentions an experimental reconstruction was made in a pentatonic scale, though that scale might be a guess rather than a certainty.
