If Twitter actually does implement E2E encrypted DMs, I predict there will be a LOT of hand-wringing. The same NYT and WaPo writers who have been writing attack pieces on Elon Musk for the past month will write about how horrible it is that people can communicate in private and how horrible their communications might be. Maybe a few EU politicians will make some threatening noises about banning Twitter, as well.
