Also, be wary of ever taking up one of their suggestions to add on an item to accompany another item you’ve ordered. I did that one time and added a completely separate dish to my order (like, an appetizer to go with a main course item). When my order arrived, I received the main course but not the appetizer. I tried to go through the process to report a missing item, but the way their system phrases the refund request option, it basically asks you “Did you not receive ALL items in this part of the order?” I couldn’t answer the question honestly because I did get part of it, I wasn’t willing to answer it dishonestly because I figured the restaurant would bear the cost or get punished somehow, and of course DoorDash makes it basically impossible to get help from a human. I used DoorDash a lot due to the pandemic and then a bad injury I had, but I’ve enjoyed getting back into the habit of placing to go orders with restaurants directly and picking it up myself.
