Eqaulity of outcome is a stupid target. Different people have different productivity. There are people who don't want to work at all. There are people who want to work 15 hours a day. There are people who produce 10x of work in the same time span. There are people with rare and hard to learn skills. I will never be convinced that a neurosurgeon should be paid the same as a janitor high school dropout. While both cleaning and neurosurgery are important jobs, they are not of the same value to the society.
