What the New York Times won’t admit about California
- rossdavidh 4y agoSo, I haven't lived in California since 1992, thus I cannot claim to speak in an informed way about this (except for the fact that Austin seemed to have a huge number of California license plates in 2020 and 2021). I'm wondering if any of the (presumably numerous) California (or very recently California) based HN readers could give their opinion on this take (or the New York Times')?
- kwertyoowiyop 4y agoWhy does this guy think NYT gives a crap why people move into or out of California? If he cares so much, why doesn’t he ask some people himself rather than speculating?
- allears 4y agoI live in a small town in Northern California. Been here for over 20 years, and the population keeps growing. A bigger problem is housing and jobs for all the people who move here. Of course that's just anecdata, I have no idea about the state as a whole, but if the population is shrinking, it's not obvious from my point of view.
