I've been using a safety razor (a Merkur Futur, for the curious ones) for years. Add in a decent brush and the upfront cost is about 100€. As far as consumables go, I pay about 10€/year in blades (I buy 100 Voskhod blades at a time), 15€/year in shaving soap, and 20€/year in miscelanea (aftershave etc.). Shaving is quite cheap if you don't fall into the printer cartridge model.
