We do this for some of our legacy apps. I don’t like it and want to move away from it. I lack both time and motivation to think about security outside of the app/code itself.
- TekMol 4y agoWhat security outside the app? Do you think the OS maintainers deliver you an OS full of holes that you have to fix?
- slowwriter 4y agoOf course not. But I don’t want to spend time choosing, configuring and maintaining an OS install in order to keep it secure. However little overhead that might be it’s almost invariably not worth it, especially since the company I work at have plenty of money to throw at PaaS hosting like Heroku
