How do you mean?
- rektide 4y agoI think the implication is that conservatives seem to be on an anti-moderation kick (eitness their willingness to burn down the one & only law that makes hosting user content online at all legally defensible, section 230, because it permits moderation). And that the opportunity to perhaps join & politically influence the the premier headlining public online space is opening up. Personally it does seem a bit distasteful. I'll never have this vantage, but I would be unshocked to find a noticeable number of extremist gross people in these new applicants ranks, people joining with serious bone to picks & probably pretty fringe stances. They'd claim freedom of speech, but there's so many inconsistencies & things they are demanding (unfettered access to online social media) that, yeah, I would expressly not want to deal with these fringe characters and their big agendas. I cant begin to express how much I'd like to be wrong here. Maybe there's less "end section 230" lunatics here, less of a heavily-far-right-wing-political-bias than I think is implicit here. Or maybe Im jusy way way way off on the original comment. But that is my read, and it matches what I'd fear. Perhaps it's less specific, less of an agenda, more just blanket fanboyism.
