We are in the middle of a fundamental upheaval of the spatial framing of political practice. Almost anyone can walk into a (virtual byob) bar from almost anywhere in the world. Scale that up and it makes for a very different bar scene. Space is short-circuited, and so is the transmission of political ideas. They used to flow slowly through a town, now they leap across the earth at gigabits per second. A more diverse set of ideas is mashed up and propagates ever faster. Eventually politics, among all human relations, is qualitatively changed. Towards or away from fascism? We're going to find out.
