That's eye opening - to know that effective altruism and the whole movement exists, the article itself is the opposite of right of course. Next time I am to donate time or money to charity I will instead choose to invest in in improving the infrastructure for evaluating the performance and impact of existing charities to help people better decide where yo donate their moneys instead of getting emotionally-hijacked by the charities with the best PR. I think we should all take better attention to this, there's a lot of money in philantropy and tons of either ineffective or downright predatory or manipulative charities!
