This is very interesting to me. I also (tried) to learn BIND via the bat book many years ago. I found it very hard to follow, and I was still early in my career so I just assumed that BIND was over my head and gave up. To this day, DNS is a very aggravating topic for me. I wonder if much of that is due to the bad experience I had when I first tried to learn about it?
