The inclusion of butyric acid has been an intentional choice for the majority of Hershey's existence at this point. It's been shown repeatedly that American consumers prefer it that way.
- jrochkind1 4y agoI grew up in the USA and have never lived anywhere else, and I can't understand why a majority of USA consumers prefer their chocolate to smell like dog poop. Or why I have to pay more to get chocolate without the addition of a chemical that apparently is no accident, but is intended to make it smell like dog poop.
