All States have to do is make a law that says if you travel for abortion you can be charged for murder if you come back to the state. That will tie a bow on fanatics fever dreams of no abortions under any circumstance.
- etskinner 4y agoIs that legal? My understanding is that they don't have jurisdiction beyond their borders. That would be like saying if you consume cannabis in a state where it's legal and then go back to a state where it's not, they could charge you.

- everforward 4y agoI don't think that will apply here. What those states are doing is pushing enforcement off onto private citizens, who aren't bound by Roe v Wade. Private citizens can't enforce criminal penalties, so you can't use those kinds of laws to hand out prison sentences or executions. Still a valid point about the expansion of anti-abortion laws, though.
