Wikipedia: Articles for deletion/Year 2038 problem
- zinekeller 5y agoJust noticed the "deletion discussion" banner when checking the exact time when will Y2K38 happened, and it seems someone nominated this to be deleted! (although to be fair it's very unlikely to be deleted considering no-one joined the nominator and it seems that the nominator is relatively new and has a pattern of questionable edits)
- noduerme 5y ago2038. I can already think who's gonna have to pull me out of retirement for this if I'm not dead. Or living on Mars. Chances are that by 2030, Copilot will just rip through all that legacy code and solve the problem, then murder every living human being for fun and play Tetris all day for the next 40 million years.
- tinus_hn 5y agoThe argument is that it will be solved by then. The thought that it will be solved by not mentioning it and just sweeping it under the rug is ridiculous.
- karmakaze 5y agoPoint to the Year 2000 problem page, that exists. The 2038 page can keep being updated until it's not.
- cr3ative 5y agoThis should of course be kept, but remember to be kind - the user who has proposed the deletion appears to be a school child. Their account is young, they've apparently applied to be an admin, while creating a lot of noise. They're still getting the hang of things.

- M2Ys4U 5y agoAll sorts of articles get nominated for deletion for all sorts of reasons, why is this one being posted here?
- hbrav 5y agoProbably because lots of people here know there's a good reason not to delete it.
- DiggyJohnson 5y agoI think what GP is asking is “All sorts of articles get nominated for deletion for spurious or incorrect reasons, and this isn’t a problem unless other editors agree with the nomination, so I don’t see a problem here. What am I missing?”
- M2Ys4U 5y agoPrecisely.
