Commonly called "commufornia" here in the Midwest by those who have left.
- fzitb 4y agoYup, We Call it Moving to the medieval Midwest.
- dankboys 4y agoWhich is ironic given the excrement situation in "enlightened" California
- wahern 4y agoA little ironic as until relatively recently American Midwestern political culture was the most strongly civic and, arguably, communitarian, in the United States. But coastal liberal culture has come to dominate the political left, southern conservative culture the political right, and the factionalization of the Midwest along those political contours has been well underway for at least a couple of decades, now. :(
- carlivar 4y agoThat's not accurate at all. Communists would be able to build high speed rail much faster.
- reducesuffering 4y agoYep, the place that built 5 out of 8 of the top market cap companies in the US (Apple, Google, Tesla, Nvidia, Facebook) sure is "commy".
- carlivar 4y agoI agree. A communist system would also be far more equal in regards to public education. California punished the poor children and rewarded the rich children able to supplement with tutors or switch to private education during the pandemic. The governor's children even go to private school! California does not even require school bus service. Florida, on the other hand, has had far more equal access to in-person education the past two years.
- signatoremo 4y agoDid you live under communist rule to know they were far more equal?
- thghtihadanacct 4y agothanks Reagan
- jefurii 4y agoNot surprised that people who left California for possibly political reasons and settled in the Midwest might say that. Sure, whatever.
