Ask HN: Is Gmail mistakenly reporting legitimate emails as spam?
the past few days I see very legitimate emails end up in spam. These include Dropbox, my bank's, and even google's very own emails sometimes? Anyone else experiencing this?
- LinuxBender 4y agoI do not use gmail but I have noticed anecdotally the frequency of people mentioning this issue here has increased steadily over the past few months for what it's worth.
- netizen-936824 4y agoSomething else I have also noticed are the comments people leave stating that they don't like to unsubscribe, rather they report the unwanted email as slam and leave it at that. So people are reporting tons of emails as spam instead of just unsubscribing
- ent101 4y agoThat's true. But I doubt people would report their bank statement emails as spam. I think something's going wrong with a new update in the backend...
- NaughtyShiba 4y agoPR comments from one specific person (teammate) always ends up in spam. Ironically, we pretty often start long discussions which brings up new ideas for codebase improvements…
- ffhhj 4y agoIt happens with my bank as well, fortunately it have never treated my own domains as spam which would be annoying, but I use to buy domain names that have never been used before.
- countmora 4y agoYes, I am under the same impression that the spam detection takes some false positives lately. Even an official government mail which was a .gov equivalent. Glad I am not the only one noticing.
- kurupt213 4y agoI’ve seen the same thing on office 365.
