Hey! I'm a firmware/software engineer that started and sold a business with an ME and EE – happy to discuss if you'd like, my email is similar to my username and hinted at in my bio. Long story short, though, we didn't take any investment, government paperwork is best done by lawyers, and once we got relatively big we hired a CEO. Overall, the takeaway for me is that (assuming some amount of good luck), no one aspect of running a business is particularly difficult; it's just that there are a lot of things, and it takes a ton of energy.
