A U.S. Recession, Are We There Yet?
- incomingpain 4y agoRecession definition is 2 quarters of negative GDP. We're minimum 3 month away. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the United States was worth 20936.60 billion US dollars in 2020 Down from 21433 billion. https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/government-debt https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/government-debt We also know government debt increased by $4trillion. We can't look at GDP growth or Real GDP or GDP per capita when considering recessions. We should be looking at: Real-GDP-net-of-debt. If we do that... the economies collapsed in 2009 and have never recovered. The incoming economic depression of these high debt countries are going to reshape the world. https://www.businessinsider.com/us-economy-debt-2012-6 https://www.businessinsider.com/us-economy-debt-2012-6 https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WP/Issues/2022/04/29/Public-Debt-and-Real-GDP-Revisiting-the-Impact-517449 https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WP/Issues/2022/04/29/Pub...
