- DFHippie 4y agoI believed I had heard differently, that obesity was on the increase globally, not just in the US or the West or rich countries. The first hit from Google: > In most of the Asian countries the prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased many folds in the past few decades and the magnitude varies between countries [6–15]. South East Asia and Western Pacific region are currently facing an epidemic of diseases associated with obesity such as diabetes and CVD [5, 6]. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2939400/#:~:text=In%20most%20of%20the%20Asian,CVD%20%5B5%2C%206%5D https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2939400/#:~:tex.... ETA: actually, that was the second hit
- immigrantheart 4y agoI have to tell you that my data is anecdotal. And boy rarely I find obese people here.
- solenoidalslide 4y agoDo you have any evidence to support that claim?
- immigrantheart 4y agoIt is mostly anecdotal, as I am currently living in 3 different countries (USA, Japan, Indonesia). The latter 2 don't suffer from obesities.
