Caffeine does very little for me, which is odd because I have a Monster Zero in the morning instead of coffee, mostly for the fun of it. If I forget or don't have access, I don't really notice. No withdrawl or anything most of the time. Even if I get caffeine withdrawal, things are back to normal in a day. I can't imagine how cutting out caffeine would lead to getting fired unless one had some really bad adrenal dysfunction (speaking as an armchair non-doctor).
- mod 5y agoI share roughly this connection to caffeine. I (always) get the withdrawals after about 2 days of no caffeine, which is usually accidental. I normally ingest quite a lot via soda & "energy" mio flavoring, but sometimes I'll just drink OJ for a few days or something without thinking much about it. Until the headaches. I can't treat the headaches with OTC medications, they aren't strong enough. So I just find more caffeine ASAP. Other than that, I don't really feel like the caffeine does much for me; sometimes, however, the drink really does perk me up or feel refreshing. Maybe that's partly due to caffeine. If I ever quit drinking soda, I will likely quit caffeine.
