98.4% by just thinking of words that i could not easily draw a mental connection between, then iterating over the list and double checking that no pair of two words had a noticeable link between them. if they did, i swapped one or both of them out and repeated.
my final list of seven was: dolphin, dentures, bitterness, genocide, envelope, crampon, and slime
