True or untrue in the same way as saying 90% of art is not new. Or many things. Almost everything humans do isn't actually novel. It's remixing things we've done before, overwhelmingly in almost-but-not-quite-exactly the same way as many others. tbh I think that's fine. But it can be a bit depressing when you first realize it about something you care about.
