Ask HN: Have you been in prison before?
- modinfo 4y agoI was 5 months in jail for phishing data on a Polish portal. It wasn't that bad even, I made new friends that I still keep in touch with now. I also learned new tricks where you won't learn anywhere like in a prison.
- theGeatZhopa 4y agoNo but a watched a lot of prison movies you need to break out?
- modinfo 4y agoNo, I got out of jail in January, but a lot of people had a phone delivered to them by the guide itself. After this came to light, there were all cells shifted and this guide was fired. Really interesting experience in general, I even got a job as an electrical enginer in prison.
- modinfo 4y agoNo film shows what it's really like in prison, not even the BBC series "Time". Prison is not that bad. I even have to admit that I enjoyed it. You even have your own key to your cell, as you can leave your cell every day for 6h and visit others. And if you have a job, your cell is open from 6AM to 8PM, then you can go anywhere you want inside prison. The first 2 weeks I was on quarantine, by corona. Then I was transported to Landsberg am Lech, where Adolf Hitler was! Every day I passed by his former cell on my way to work. Every second week there is a shopping spree where you can buy everything you need, from food to hygiene. And if you are a smoker you get 3 tobacco packs. Then you have to buy it yourself.
