It sounds like not only you want recognition but you genuinely want to "enlighten" those around you. Maybe you could start a blog, a newsletter, or multiple of those, about your skills, giving out tips etc. Instead of you going after people to change them, make like-minded people come to you. If by "appreciated" you also mean "compensated", you could grow into selling courses.
