In some editors (SQL server management studio, visual studio code, but badly), ctrl-shift-arrow keys lets you edit many rows of text simultaneously. Simplest example is multi-row comment, but if you align your code well, some repetitive tasks become surprisingly efficient.
- enobrev 4y agoAlt+Shift+Left-Click for any JetBrains IDEs. I use it for coding as well as data editing (eg. Aligned MySQL CLI results in a scratch file) all the time. The support is excellent as when you have multiple cursors, all other standard key combos, like Ctrl+arrow work for all at once. It's also great for selecting a list of aligned text and pasting it elsewhere.
