Halfway through the post I concluded what you did at the end. I'm not sure if it's feasible given your current situation, but moving to another team will probably make you feel more engaged/fulfilled at work. You sound proactive and you care about doing a good job, a team where you're the only one with that attitude is only going to bring you down. You could switch teams or just go to another company.
