We are seeing the slow collapse of the globalized economy and it will be painful and last for a couple of years as things relocalize. The constant chasing after larger margins lead to centralization of key industries in a few countries. We are starting to see that unwinding as some of those countries can no longer be trusted to be partners. Not sure what it means long term politically but it’s easy to imagine big block politics rearing it’s head again. I am however unsure if the west had the will to stand on principles anymore.
